Cause of Death Released for 13-Year-Old Kansas Boy

A coroner has released the cause of death for a 13-year-old boy from Kansas. Airen Andula was found dead in a creek bed in Missouri on December 22.

The Wyandotte County, Kansas, Coroner’s Office stated that Andula died from multiple dog bites, according to WDAF.

Andula was reported missing on December 21. He was last seen riding his bike in Linn County, Kansas, on his way to a neighbor’s house to care for their pets, as reported by CrimeOnline.

During the search, 47-year-old Damon Leonard contacted deputies in Bates County, Missouri. He informed them that the boy was dead and that he knew the location of the body. Leonard led deputies to a remote area about 30 minutes from his home, where searchers found the body down a steep ravine.

Leonard has been charged in Missouri with abandonment of a corpse. In Kansas, he faces charges of interference with law enforcement, criminal desecration, and having a vicious dog at large.

Damon Leonard is currently in custody in Missouri with a cash bond set at $100,000.
