Double Shooting in Dallas Linked to Online Dating App

A meet-up arranged through an online dating app led to a double shooting early Friday in Dallas, Texas. The 26-year-old suspect claims he acted in self-defense.

Noah Trueba was arrested after investigators say he shot a couple he met through the app on January 2.

Incident Details

Dallas police officers responded to a shooting call at 5:10 a.m. in the 11800 block of High Meadow Drive. They found two people who had been shot.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by KDFW, Trueba said he had been drinking and using drugs with the victims, who called themselves husband and wife.

Trueba claimed the shooting occurred after the couple attempted to sexually assault him, prompting him to fire his weapon in self-defense.

Shortly after the shooting call, police found Trueba hiding near a highway and took him into custody.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. Trueba remains in the Dallas County Jail.
