Gunfire Strikes Detroit Home Early Saturday Morning
Just before 5 a.m. on Saturday, gunfire erupted on Birwood Street, near 7 Mile. A suspect was recorded on camera approaching a house, banging on the door, and yelling for someone to answer. No one responded.
This incident was terrifying for a Detroit mother and her family as bullets struck their home early Saturday.
Inside the house, family members ducked for cover. The homeowner stated she does not know the shooter.
According to police, the suspect fled the scene but returned to fire more shots into the house and a parked car before escaping.
“Bullet hole right here. There’s one through here. And the last one is here. Those are the three that came through the home,” the homeowner reported. “One actually went through the living room, through the kitchen, through the bathroom, to the bathroom door.”
No one was physically harmed, but the mental impact is significant.
The homeowner reiterated that she does not know the attacker. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Detroit police to help apprehend the suspect.
