Man Arrested After Missing Girl Found
A man is in custody after a missing girl was found with him. The girl had run away from her home in Frenchtown Township.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported that the 14-year-old girl was reported missing on Friday. Her family tracked her last known location to a Meijer store in Monroe.
When deputies arrived at the store, the girl was not there. However, they obtained security video showing the girl and a man getting into a vehicle and leaving. License plate readers helped track the vehicle, which was identified as an Uber.
Information from the Uber driver, who had dropped off the man and girl in Monroe, led deputies to them. The man was arrested for harboring a juvenile runaway, and the girl was returned to her family.
