BOULDER, Colo. — A man died following a fire at a Boulder retirement community on Sunday night. The incident led to the evacuation of some residents from the facility.
The fire was limited to one unit at a 55+ housing facility in the 4800 block of Baseline Road.
Firefighters arrived around midnight and found the male victim during a preliminary search of the units.
Crews removed the man from the building and began life-saving measures.
Despite their efforts, the attempts were unsuccessful, and the unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire caused damage from flames, smoke, and water. Nearby apartments were also affected, but no other injuries were reported.
