Nicholas Scott is charged with sexual extortion, illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, nine counts of endangering children, and three counts of nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images, WLWT reported.

Incident Details

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force sent a tip to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office in October. This tip was about an incident that occurred on Snapchat in July.

Detectives identified a juvenile victim in Missouri and contacted the victim and their guardians. Prosecutors stated that the victim believed they were communicating with a woman. The victim sent a nude image to the suspect’s account, which belonged to Scott.

Scott then demanded more photos and videos. He threatened to send the images to the victim’s friends and family if they did not comply.

Additional Victims and Investigation

Officials reported that the minor was not the only victim. Scott used photos and videos of an adult woman from Colorado, who did not know her images were being used, to solicit material and money.

Investigators traced the Snapchat account information to Scott’s home in Tate Township. They secured a warrant to search the home on December 26.

Officials stated that Scott cooperated with the search. He provided a statement in which he took responsibility and claimed there were no local victims.

Legal Proceedings

Scott was booked into jail that day and held on a $100,000 bond, which has since been revoked. Deputies are working with NCMEC and ICAC to identify further victims.
