PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is a nonprofit organization that assists community members in having safer homes. They focus on essential repairs rather than cosmetic improvements.
“Rebuilding Together Philadelphia provides free home repairs to income-eligible homeowners to make homes safe for seniors, healthy for children, and secure assets to pass on to the next generation,” said President & CEO Stefanie Seldin. “So it’s everything from basic systems plumbing, roofing, electrical, and everything to make a home structurally sound.”
This organization collaborates with local groups and contractors to perform the necessary work in homes. For example, at April Wimbush’s home in West Philadelphia, they provided roof repairs and insulation work. This is particularly important during winter months, ensuring that the homeowner has a warm place to live and does not need to relocate.
