U-Haul Truck Drives into Crowd in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES – A U-Haul truck drove into a crowd of demonstrators in the Westwood area of Los Angeles, as shown in a shocking video on social media.

The video, shared by @Shangoolans on Sunday, January 11, showed the U-Haul truck hitting people who were flying the Iranian flag. Screams were heard in the background, and people ran out of the way. Some individuals tried to retaliate by hitting the vehicle with a flagpole.

The incident occurred near the Federal Building on Wilshire Boulevard.

FOX 11’s Matthew Seedorff reported that at least one person was hurt in the incident.

Prior to the incident, event organizers stated that a demonstration was held in Westwood to call for political change in Iran. Organizers mentioned that these rallies allow Iranian Americans to speak up and amplify voices for those demanding change in Iran. This includes calls to address the country’s economic crisis and to end human rights violations.

As of Sunday, the reason for the U-Haul driver’s actions is unknown. Officials have not confirmed if a suspect has been identified, and no arrests have been announced as of Sunday afternoon.
