A Fort Bend County woman appeals a court ruling ordering her dog’s execution after a bite incident in Rosenberg, citing no prior aggression.
Dog Execution Scheduled After Court Ruling in Richmond, Texas
RICHMOND, Texas – Ladonna Aboubsi recently lost her court case regarding her dog. A petition to change the outcome is gaining attention on social media. There are always two sides to every story.
Ladonna admits that the dangerous dog hearing on January 6 did not go in her favor. Her German Shepherd, named Hachi, is scheduled for execution on January 16.
On Christmas Eve, her dog bit a neighbor. Ladonna describes the injury as a scratch. However, the Rosenberg Police Department states that this was a dog bite incident that resulted in significant injury to a resident.
Ladonna plans to appeal the court’s decision. “I’m going to fight for him,” she said.
A petition is circulating on social media.
According to the Rosenberg police statement, the victim was bitten near his front door as he returned from placing garbage cans at the curb.
Police say Ladonna was notified multiple times that the dog was running loose and disturbing neighbors.
The police statement adds, “Facts and evidence suggest the owner clearly failed to contain or control the animal as regulated by law.”
Ladonna wants one more review of the case. “I want one more look at how they are sentencing animals,” she said. “He has no prior instances of hurting anyone.”
Rosenberg police say this case should remind all pet owners of their legal and moral responsibility to ensure their animals do not pose a danger to others.
